040517-maw-award

Maw Sallah, BRI’s long tenured handyman, carpenter and member of the Biorepository team to name just a few of his duties, first joined BRI in 1979. He was hired by the then Director, James Leef. Maw left his handiwork all over the Parklawn building that BRI moved from last April of 2016 after close to 40 years of occupancy. Maw renovated a number of spaces in the building including the two conference rooms, laboratories and the administrative office to name a few. In total he spent 36 years at BRI before retiring on new year’s eve, 2015. He was invited to this year’s BRI holiday party where he and a number of his former colleagues were recognized for their service to BRI. Pictured below is Mr. Sallah received his service award from current BRI executive director, Dr. Paul Nisson at the new BRI facility on 9410 Key West Avenue in Rockville, MD.
